Manolis Korres

  Manolis Korres,Dr. Architect-Eng, Dr. Ph. h.c. FU Berlin, Emeritus Professor NTU Athens, Member of the Academy of Athens. Also, President of the Committee for the Restoration of the Acropolis Monuments and member of the Central Archaeological Council of Greece. His work and research include: Acropolis Restoration Project 1975, 1977-1980, 1982-1999; Architectural-archaeological research on Amorgos (1974-77); Naxos (1976-2000); Metropolis, Thessaly (2002-2005); Amyclae, Sparta (2006-); Pythion, Thrace (1974-2008).

  His other fields or subjects of study include: Ionic capitals in Greece, Stoa of Eumenes, Theater of Herodes Atticus, Monument of Philopappos, bridges of the Roman aqueduct, Temple of Olympios Zeus in Athens and Temple of Athena Pallenis, vernacular architecture in Mani, Etruscan Tombs in Norchia, the Theoderich Monument in Ravenna, 19th Century Cartography in Athens and Attica, early 19th Century Telegraphic Stations in Greece, Historical Stone Bridges, Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem, and many other.
